Meet the Maker: The Story Behind Spectrum Threadz ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿงต

Hi. Iโ€™m Junior. And Iโ€™m the brain (and the hands) behind Spectrum Threadz.

I didnโ€™t start this brand because I wanted to be a fashion mogul.

I started it because I was tired.

Tired of cutting itchy tags out of my shirts until they had holes in them.

Tired of seeing โ€œAutism Awarenessโ€ shirts that were just bright blue puzzle pieces designed for neurotypical moms, not for us.

Tired of feeling like I had to mask who I was just to fit in.

The โ€œAhaโ€ Moment

I remember looking for a shirt that represented my experienceโ€”something funny, relatable, and actually coolโ€”and coming up empty.

Everything was either too loud, too childish, or justโ€ฆ wrong.

I realized that if I wanted clothes that understood my sensory needs and my sense of humor, I was going to have to make them myself.

More Than Just T-Shirts

Spectrum Threadz isnโ€™t just about selling clothes. Itโ€™s about being seen.

When you wear a hoodie that says โ€œSocial Battery: 0%โ€ or a shirt about your special interest, you are sending a signal to the world. You are unmasking, just a little bit.

And when you see someone else wearing that same gear? Itโ€™s an instant connection. Itโ€™s a nod that says, โ€œI see you. I get it. Youโ€™re safe with me.โ€

This Community is Everything

Every time you guys comment on a post, share a meme, or send me a photo of you rocking your gear, it makes my day.

You have turned this little idea into a community of people who celebrate neurodiversity instead of hiding it.

So, thank you.

Thank you for supporting a small, neurodivergent-owned business.

Thank you for being exactly who you are.

Now, if youโ€™ll excuse me, I have a new special interest to obsess over. (Itโ€™s designing more cool stuff for you).

Stay spicy. โ™พ๏ธ
